End of an Era for this Adelaide Hills farming property.
For over 20 years the Leibelt family of Littlehampton
has owned and operated - Platform 1, Heritage Farm Railway.
Since opening in 1996, Platform 1 has received numerous awards
for outstanding service in the tourism industry.
Owner and Train driver, Glen Leibelt says "We are proud to
have created and run such a great attraction for children and
adults alike to enjoy. I believe it is our own family's passion
for railways and farming which has made Platform 1 so successful."
Visitors have until Sunday the 15th October to head up to the Hills
for the last train ride at Platform 1.

All the cats and dogs that are available for adoption from the AWL have been desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and health checked and are ready to go.
The adoption cost starts at $50.

The pets may be at one of three AWL locations - Wingfield, Port Adelaide or Edinburgh North

Adoption opening times: 7 days a week, 10am - 3pm

Classic vehicles from Bay to Birdwood will gather in the grounds of the National Motor Museum to celebrate another successful community gathering of motoring history.

WHEN: Sunday 24th September from 6.00 am to commence start at 8.30 am

WHERE: From The Bay travelling through the city, then up the hills to National Motor Museum Birdwood

VEHICLES: Vehicles manufactured from 1956 to 1981 - the era ot the Hills Hoist, FC Holden, Beatles, James Dean, Rock n Roll, Marilyn Munroe and Hippies.

There will be live music, fashion competitions, judging of vehicles, food and beverages to feast on.

National Motor Museum is launching a new permanent exhibition to preserve the Holden worker's legacy and the story of the assembly plant that has sustained thousands of South Australian families.

The project will have seven stages on display from the ceiling of the assembly line from the Elizabeth plant. Also on display will be history of Holden manufacturing through various media presentations.

Official launch: Sunday 24th September, 2017 11.00 am coinciding with the Bay to Birdwood run.

The Anglican Parish Centre is holding a market & garage sale to raise funds for the Helpless Colony Orphanage in Kathmandu.

GARDEN BLITZ AT MOUNT LOFTY BOTANIC GARDEN

Botanic Gardens' annual Garden Blitz allows the public to enjoy a fun morning of gardening, followed by a free BBQ lunch.

Volunteers of all ages and gardening abilities are invited to join like-minded green thumbs and Botanic Gardens' staff to plant flowers and help with mulching and weeding. The garden is being prepared for its 40th anniversary celebrations in November.
