ANIMAL WELFARE LEAGUE Pet of the Week
ANIMAL WELFARE LEAGUE Pet of the Week
All the cats and dogs that are available for adoption from the AWL have been desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and health checked and are ready to go. Adoption costs start from $25.

The pets may be at one of three AWL locations - Wingfield, Port Adelaide or Edinburgh North

Adoption opening times: 7 days a week, 10am - 3pm

Dog of the week is BRAX: I’m an energetic young lad who’s looking for a running partner and cuddle buddy.
At just three years old I’m looking for a home where I’ll get to grow up and make a lifetime of happy memories. I’d prefer to be the only pet in your life as I just get too excited by other animals, but you better believe that I’ll be all the pet you’ll need!

Cat of the week is MICK:
I’m an outgoing fella who is inquisitive and cool.
At 5-years-old I love to play, snooze atop my cat tower and watch the world from the windowsill.
I came into AWL not looking my best but after some TLC I’m starting to look like my dapper self again.

For more information about a particular cat, rabbit or dog go to the AWL website at www.awlsa.com.au or phone 8348 1300.

LOOKING FOR HILLS TREASURES!
LOOKING FOR HILLS TREASURES!
Do you know someone in our region who is an unsung treasure, quietly contributing so much to their local community?

This is a joint initiative in collaboration between Adelaide Hills, Alexandrina and Mt Barker District councils in recognising older people for their contribution.

To nominate this person, they must be aged 65 or over (or over 55 if Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander) who are treasured by friends, family or colleagues for any reason

Past Hills Treasures have been nominated for reasons such as baking skills, storytelling, valued friendship or even giving out great hugs – it really is the small things we want to celebrate!

Nomination forms can be collected from libraries and community centres across the Adelaide Hills region, or completed online

Nominations open on 26 August and close 22 September with all nominees receiving a certificate of recognition and invitation to a celebratory afternoon tea in October.
