ANIMAL WELFARE LEAGUE Pet of the Week
All the cats and dogs that are available for adoption from the AWL have been desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and health checked and are ready to go.
Adoption costs start from $25.
The pets may be at one of three AWL locations - Wingfield, Port Adelaide or Edinburgh North
Adoption opening times: 7 days a week, 10am - 3pm
DOG of the week is SASHA:
Are you looking for a loving girl, who is a pat-a-holic and the squishiest dog you’ve ever met? Well here I am!
I’m the kind of girl who will lean right into your side while you’re giving me love, and then happily take a nap on the couch beside you.
If you’re looking for a best friend who will always be by your side, through the good and the bad, then here I am.
CAT of the week is TIC TAC:
I’m a sweet mature aged cat who came into the care of the AWL through no fault of my own.
At 11-years-old I’m at an age where I’m ready to put my feet up, sit back and relax as my family worship me.
I’m a delicate little princess who just wants to laze around on a velvet pillow and get spoilt.
For more information about a particular cat, rabbits or dog go to the AWL website at awlsa.com.au or phone 8348 1300.

RAA Street Smart Primary
Young children are especially vulnerable on our roads so we need to equip them with road skills and traffic knowledge.
RAA Street Smart Primary is a school program that features a road safety presentation and interactive activities to educate children about pedestrian, passenger and cycling safety.
It is free to school students from Reception to Year 7 and is tailored to particular age groups.
Information is also provided to parents to reinforce the safety learning at home.
The program was launched this month at St Catherine’s School in Stirling and will be available to all SA schools in 2019.
Teachers interested in 2019 bookings can visit raa.com.au or phone the Street Smart Primary team on 8202 8214.

Christmas Day BBQs
A declaration of a Total Fire Ban Day on 25 December could have an impact on residents looking to fire up the BBQ for Christmas.
Use of wood and solid fuel barbecues, including kettles, is prohibited on Total Fire Ban Days without a permit from Council. If the day is also declared an extreme or catastrophic fire danger day, all permits are automatically void.
Gas or electric barbeques may be used on Total Fire Ban Days under the following conditions:
Within 15 metres of domestic premises, or
On a coastal foreshore.
Providing you have
A four metre cleared area around and above the barbeque,
A responsible person is in attendance at all times with water or an extinguisher at hand, and
The barbeque is completely extinguished before leaving the area.
Fire danger information and Total Fire Danger Days are declared by the Country Fire Service (CFS).
Updates are available on a daily basis at cfs.sa.gov.au/site/bans
