Fun in the Forest for Family and Friends!

Dirty Days is a series of mountain biking events featuring some of Adelaide's best trail networks.

Each event offers two skill levels, one for people already comfortable on a mountain bike as well as a beginners option for those new to mountain biking.

The ride routes will be marked and mapped and there will be safety marshals on the course. As well as the cycling there is also a friendly event hub to swap stories and for refreshments.

Sunday 20 October - Cudlee Creek (Fox Creek)

ANIMAL WELFARE LEAGUE Pet of the Week
ANIMAL WELFARE LEAGUE Pet of the Week
All the cats and dogs that are available for adoption from the AWL have been desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and health checked and are ready to go. Adoption costs start from $25.

The pets may be at one of three AWL locations - Wingfield, Port Adelaide or Edinburgh North

Adoption opening times: 7 days a week, 10am - 3pm

Dog of the week is MAJOR:
I'm a happy-go-lucky dude searching for a loving family. I love training, playing soccer and trying to work out puzzles. I'd prefer to be the only pet in my new home.

Cat of the week is EMMY:
I'm four years old and a bit of a scaredy cat and meeting new people is overwhelming but given time in a loving house I could start to trust my family.

For more information about a particular cat, rabbit or dog go to the AWL website at www.awlsa.com.au or phone 8348 1300.

Tips for Hay Fever Season
Tips for Hay Fever Season
Spring is finally here and that means hay fever is right around the corner.

The good news is you don’t need to jump straight to nasal sprays and antihistamines when pollen and allergens are in the air.

Here are some tips to avoid triggering your hay fever symptoms this spring:

At home
• Keep windows and doors closed at home.
• Do your dusting with a damp cloth
• Remove any weeds or trees if you are sensitive to them.
• Keep pets out of the house
• Don't smoke or let other people smoke in your house.

On the move
• Buy a pollen filter for air vents and use recirculating air-
conditioning in the car.
• Avoid mowing and camping. If you have to do so, wear a mask.
• Try not to go outside until after midday
Clothes
• Change your clothes and take a shower after being outdoors
• Avoid drying clothes outside.
• Rinse your eyes when you get home.
